Car Fire in Lower Oxford

At 2008 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for a reported car on fire in the 100 block of Jackson School Road in Lower Oxford Township. Within minutes, the Chester County Fireboard notified Assistant 21 (Meadowcroft) of additional reports of the fire extending into the nearby house.

Assistant 21 arrived and confirmed a fully involved car with no extension, however the siding was melting off of the side of the house.

Engine 21-2 (Lt. Kinsey) arrived and dropped 200' of 5" supply line up the driveway. The crew ran the bumper line and began to attack the fire.

Engine 21-1 (Safety Officer Booth) arrived. The crew checked for any extension into the house while the driver established the water supply along the road with Tanker 21.

Engine 21-4 (FF Groseclose) arrived and the crew assisted with overhaul and clean-up.

The fire was placed under control within several minutes and the final units were clear of the incident at 2129 hours.
