Box 2113

At 22:43 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1, Medic 94 and an Ambulance from Cecil County Station 8, were alerted for a serious auto accident in the 300 Block of Glenroy Road in West Nottingham Township.

Chief 21 arrived and reported one vehicle off the roadway, into a tree, with one subject trapped. With this report, Cecil County Rescue 8 and Engine 18 were requested and Skycare was placed on standby.

Ambulance 21-1 arrived and began patient care, followed by Engine 21-2. The Engine crew began stabilization and placed in service the "O" Cutters and Spreaders. Engine 21-3 and Engine 21-1 arrived and assisted with extrication, while Engine 3's crew deployed the bumper line from Engine 21-2. The driver and passenger side doors were removed, along with the windshield and roof. Crews then flapped the roof to remove the patient.

After an extensive extrication, EMS confirmed aviation and Cecil Engine 18 was assigned to establish a Landing Zone on Christine Road. Cecil Ambulance 892 transported the patient to the LZ for the flight to the hospital.

Crews worked to pack up the Hurst Units and handline, before clearing the scene just before Midnight… only to be alerted for another incident in the local before returning to quarters.

**Special thanks to surrounding mutual aid companies for handling multiple EMS calls in our district during the incident.
