EMT Graduation

August 4, 2010

On Wednesday, August 4, 2010 the Chester County Department of Emergency Services held its graduation ceremony for their Emergency Medical Technician-Basic class. The Chester County Government Services Center was the location of the event.

Over a six week period, members of the class spent eight hours a day, four days a week in the classroom and out in the field, studying every facet that needs to be known to become an EMT. This "accelerated" course is offered by the county every summer over a shorter period of time while school is not in session. It is a more favorable course for those who are still in high school and college, because the normal length of the class runs three months and is during the fall or spring.

From the Union Fire Company No. 1, Brian Vickers and Melissa Kluczynski were honored for completing and passing all of their exams.

EMS Training Coordinator Robert Linnenbaugh commended the graduates for their hard work through out the course, as the graduates were presented with their certifications. Leo Scaccia of Medic 93 was the keynote speaker and Director of Emergency Services Edward Atkins spoke as well.

The Union Fire Company No. 1 would like to congratulate everyone who completed the program and sacrificed time away from their jobs and families.
